Yhangry is a private chef marketplace, which helps customers book private chefs to come and cook for any occasion, such as birthdays, hen parties or weekly meal prep.

The problem

The main goal was to increase conversion and retention rate of the platform. As it was found by founders, a lot of people were interested in the service but lucked the clarity of how actually book the service.

The solution

We proceeded with a range of UX exercises to better identify the root cause of our problem and provided the new & more engaging user flow as well as updated user experience.

We started our process with UX Audit. We identified the main problems and their potential solution by carefully reviewing the current platform.

We created 5 proto personas, which helped us to concentrate on users pains and needs.

To make everything right, we designed the user flow, made a few iterations with the client, and started executing it.

Our main goals were to make it easier for users to request quote, book chef or menu for their events.

We also needed to make the experience more engaging and valuable to encourage the retention of users.

After finalising user experience audit, we created new step-by-step “Request quote” flow. We aimed to eliminate cognitive overload by breaking the required information into small, meaningful chunks.

Book a private chef

On Yhangry, it is possible to book private chefs with various backgrounds, from restaurant chefs to celebrity and Michelin chefs. Clients can choose from 600+ chefs across the UK. We refined the chef profile page’s visual, making it easy to contact or instantly book the chef a customer liked.

Dashboard for returning customer

The platform was missing an important space for returning customers. We added customer dashboard, which aimed to contain all of the upcoming events, quick actions and customised recommendations. It helps users to orient themselves on the platform and efficiently complete tasks.

The result

In conclusion, we successfully completed the UX research and user interface design creation for a private chefs marketplace. Our design approach emphasised simplicity, ease of use, and consistency, resulting in a user-friendly platform that helped customers to reduce stress and to request a quote or book private chefs in minutes.
