Senior UX Consultant

Salary: Up to £60k including 4 weeks holiday per year.

Job Type: Full-time (flexible working from home and office)

The senior UX role at Solace is a leadership position within our growing design studio.

Solace is a fast-paced, fast-growing agency with a small but established studio of talented designers, developers and product managers. The role is based in our WeWork space in Waterloo, London.

Our clients are usually start-ups or recently created businesses that want to invest in design to improve the performance of their websites and products.

This is a great opportunity for a UX practitioner to grow into a more senior role, helping inform design strategy and solutions for our clients and internal products.

After your first year at Solace, you will have:

  • Planned and led tens of client workshops, winning more business for the studio and agency
  • Planned and delivered UX discovery tasks for tens of clients. For example, UX objective setting, expert reviews, conducting formative or evaluative research, competitor/comparator analysis, user story-mapping and concept sketching
  • Conducted rounds of evaluative research to improve and optimise the design work the studio creates. This will include participant recruitment, moderation and insight report writing
  • Produce UI artefacts (usually in Figma) to illustrate your and the team’s thinking, which can be handed off to our UI designers for further refinement
  • Presented and led client-review workshops, helping to discuss and gather objective feedback and briefing it to the rest of the team
  • Overseen the design and development process of your and the team’s solutions so that UX objectives are delivered
  • Led and mentored colleagues who were less experienced in UX practice
  • Attended and/or led training courses and talks that deepened your UX practice skills, or adjacent disciplines
